History of Vincent
The City of Vincent, located just north of Perth’s central business district, was officially established in 1994, though its history as a local government entity began much earlier as part of the Perth Road District in 1895. Originally, the area that became the City of Vincent was part of the City of Perth, but rapid urbanization and community growth led to the formation of a separate local government. It was initially created as the Town of Vincent before gaining city status in 2011. The city was named after Vincent Street, one of the prominent streets in the area.
Today, the City of Vincent is a vibrant and diverse urban area, known for its lively cultural scene, historic architecture, and eclectic mix of residential and commercial spaces.
