History of Bassendean
Bassendean, located in Perth, Western Australia, traces its origins to the 1830s, originally known as West Guildford. Positioned along the Swan River, the area played a key role in early European settlement due to its fertile land. In 1922, it was renamed Bassendean after a Scottish estate and began transitioning from a rural to a suburban area, driven by its proximity to Perth.
Throughout the 20th century, Bassendean expanded, with railways facilitating growth and industrialization. Today, it blends heritage conservation with modern development, offering a mix of historical buildings and urban amenities.
